Lamice, Danni and I decided to fly down to Melbourne for the weekend to see the Van Gogh and the Seasons exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.
The exhibition started with a video about Vincent Van Gogh being heavily inspired by nature and the seasons, and touched upon some background information. After the the video, in the next room there were touch screens following the timeline of his life.
The exhibition then went on to show collection of works had collected and were inspired by, which included etchings, wood prints and Japanese prints.
The exhibition was categorised by the seasons, starting off with Autumn, then winter, followed by spring then summer finishing off with a self portrait.
What I love the most about Van Gogh was his talent for brushstrokes with movement.
Overall it was a beautiful exhibition, well planned and curated.
